Welcome to AbbieSportsWear

TRUSTED EXCELLENCE IN SPORTSWEAR AND HOSIERY

About AbbieSports

For eight years, our work left this country under other people's names.

We cut the fabric. We sewed it, printed it, finished it and packed it. Someone else stitched in the label. It was a fine way to learn the trade and a poor way to build a name — so in 2018 we put ours on the carton.

Sialkot, Punjab Cut-and-sew since 2010 Independent since 2018 OEM, private label, wholesale

You have probably already worn something this city made

Sialkot is a small city in northern Punjab that has spent more than a century making sports goods for the rest of the world. Footballs for World Cups. Gloves, jerseys, kit for leagues most people here will never watch in person. Skill that would be remarkable elsewhere is simply ordinary here — a family two streets over knows more about a lockstitch and a fabric grain line than most factories know about their entire product.

We came up inside that. Not as a start-up with a deck, but as people who understood a cutting table and a sewing line long before they understood a spreadsheet. It is the part of our story we care most about, because it is the part that shows up in the goods.

2010 to 2018

The years when nobody knew our name

From 2010 we produced as a manufacturing partner — caps and headwear, socks, sports scarves and team accessories for established labels and exporters. Our name never reached the buyer. Only the goods did.

That arrangement teaches you what a brand-first company never learns. You find out precisely which faults get a carton rejected at the port and which ones get quietly absorbed. You learn how a sublimated panel holds its colour after twenty washes and how a badly cured one goes chalky after five. You learn what a crooked embroidery placement costs when it is repeated four thousand times. You learn what a two-week delay does to a club that has already printed the fixture list.

Eight years of being held to somebody else's standard is an unglamorous education. It is also why we don't need a buyer to walk us through their quality manual. We have already been on the wrong end of one.

We didn't start a company. We stopped standing behind one.

2018 — the year the floor, the people and the standards stayed exactly as they were, and only the label changed.

Putting our own name on the carton

Becoming AbbieSports in 2018 was not a rebrand. It was accepting the consequences. When your name is on the carton, a rejected shipment is yours. A missed date is yours. A sample that arrives in the wrong Pantone is yours, and there is nobody further down the chain to point at.

It also meant we could finally speak to the person who actually buys the product. Before, a buyer's feedback reached us third-hand, months late, softened by two intermediaries who had their own reasons for softening it. Now a sourcing manager in Manchester or Dubai sends an email, and the reply comes from the same building the goods are cut and sewn in. Questions are answered in hours rather than weeks, because there is nobody in between to ask.

We are still a manufacturer, not a marketing company. We simply stopped being an anonymous one.

Sixteen years, three chapters

The short version, for buyers who want the facts before they want the story.

2010

Production partner

Began manufacturing caps and headwear, socks, sports scarves and team accessories for established labels and exporters — building the pattern-making, cutting, stitching and finishing capability that everything since has rested on.

2018

Our own company

Founded AbbieSports as an independent manufacturer, taking direct responsibility for sampling, production, inspection and delivery — and dealing with buyers ourselves for the first time in eight years.

Now

Made to order, for brands who order by the carton

Custom caps and headwear, socks, sports scarves and team accessories, produced OEM, private label and wholesale for brands, clubs, teamwear suppliers and distributors — in their colours, their construction, their labels and their packaging. Nothing we make is a stock item.

Four things we won't move on

Every supplier says they care about quality. These are the specific, checkable versions of that sentence — the ones we would want to be held to if we were the ones buying.

The bulk matches the sample you approved

The signed-off sample is the standard for the run, not an aspiration for it. Fabric is matched to your Pantone references and the bulk is measured against the sample in your hand — not against a photograph of it.

The decoration method is chosen for the fabric, not for our convenience

Embroidery on a heavier woven panel, sublimation where the colour has to run edge to edge, heat transfer where the detail is too fine for a needle. If the effect you have drawn will not survive the fabric you have chosen, we tell you before sampling rather than after delivery.

A date we give you is a date we have already checked

Lead times are quoted against the real production schedule, not against the best week we ever had. If something slips, you hear it from us early enough to do something about it. That is the part most suppliers get wrong, and it is the one buyers remember.

You talk to the factory, not a layer in front of it

The person answering your email can walk to the cutting table. No agent, no trading house, no message handed down a chain until the detail has worn off it.

The floor is the whole company

There is no head office somewhere else. Pattern-making, cutting, stitching, embroidery, sublimation, inspection, folding and packing all happen under one roof, with people who have done the same work long enough to catch a fault by the sound of a machine before they see it in the cloth.

Which is why we would rather show you the floor than send you a brochure. If you are sourcing seriously, ask for a video walkthrough of your order mid-production. We will send it the same week.

Send us something difficult to make

A tech pack, a Pantone reference, or a photograph of the product you already sell and quietly wish was better. You will get back a costing, a construction proposal and a sampling plan — from the people who will actually be making it.
